[歌詞和訳] Let It Be / The Beatles (ビートルズ)

今日はビートルズの名曲"Let It Be"(1970年リリース)の歌詞を和訳します。

こちらも作詞作曲の名義はレノン-マッカートニーとなっていますが、

この名曲はポール・マッカートニーが作詞作曲しています。

本当にジョン・レノンもポール・マッカトニーも同じくらいの名曲をこの世に送り出していますね。

大成功を収めたものの、メンバー間での方向性の違いなどから、

もめ事が多くなった後期のビートルズ。

そこに悩んでいたポール・マッカートニーがある晩、

夢に亡き母が出てきて"Let It Be"と語りかけたというのがこの曲の由来と言われます。

ポールの亡き母はMaryというので、

歌詞中のMother Maryはポールのお母さんともとれますが、

ポール・マッカトニーは聖書に出てくる聖母マリアと解釈してくれて構わないと言っているそうです。

この歌詞を訳すにあたって、1番難しいのはタイトル"Let It Be"ですね。

「あるがままに」とか「なるようになる」とかが思いつきますが、
